If you are in the process of planning out your next adventure, chances are you are using some form of smartphone app, website or hitting up forums for information. Hey, we love guidebooks just as much as anyone else, but they just aren’t that great for travel planning when compared to today’s always updated tech.
Here are 5 apps the Outdoorsy crew always uses, no matter if it’s for a monthlong trip, or a weekend getaway.
Allstays Camp & RV
So much great info here, friends. Campgrounds, fuel stops, rest areas, points of interest – everything needed to efficiently travel in your RV. http://www.allstays.com/
Roadtrippers
Who doesn’t love Roadtrippers? Put this app on your device and you’ll have access to all of your Roadtrippers saved places, from restaurants to outdoor recreation and parks. It’s the perfect trip-planning tool.
GasBuddy
Saving fuel is the name of the game when on the road. Save yourself some money for actually doing stuff by using the GasBuddy app, which helps you find the lowest fuel prices near you. GasBuddy’s trip cost calculator is super handy when planning your trips, too.
RoadBreakers
RoadBreakers has one goal, and that’s to help you find overnight big rig parking. That includes us in RV’s, too. The data is stored locally on your phone, so no need to worry about losing signal with this app. Load this one up and get to truckin’.
Passport America
If you are looking to save up to 50% on campground stays, you need to hook up with Passport America. This members-only program (don’t worry, you’ll make up the fee in your first couple of stays) has saved me tons of cash on everything from overnight stops to two week stays. Install the app and you’ll be able to tell how close you are to a participating campground.
