Have you ever wanted something that was just out of reach? Most people do. For Kacey and Brycen Marner, that something was traveling in an RV with their kids. However, unlike the majority of people, this couple finally decided to go for it.
“It had always been a distant dream to travel the country with our family in the convenience of an RV,” Kacey says. “We really didn’t ever think it would be something we could do, but we took the plunge!”
Renting to travel
The Marner family chose to rent out their Class C RV on Outdoorsy in order to help pay for the RV—and their travels. They haven’t looked back since. The day after listing, their first renter reached out to book their rig, and they’ve rented many more times since.
“We’ve done around 25 rentals,” Kacey shares. “Our favorites are families like ours sharing the outdoor, RVing experience with their kids.”
“In two years, we’ve made about $16,000. From that, we keep between $3,000 to $5,000 a year for our family to travel with.”
A peek into the adventures
Where have those travels taken Kacey and her family?
“We did 16 national parks in a year’s time! All in a couple of two- to three-week trips,” she says. “We are so grateful for the amazing opportunity to travel with our kids and see so much of the country, and our kids have really enjoyed the Junior Ranger program at each national park we visit.”
