The RV Park – and the town itself – is centrally located in between three major cities: Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington. Lexington is the closest and takes only 20 minutes to reach. The capital city of Frankfort isn’t far away either and takes less than 30 minutes to reach.
From Cincinnati, it’s 70 miles away and requires an hour’s drive to reach following the I-75 N highway. The distance is the same from Louisville and takes an hour to reach along the I-64 highway.
The RV Park has 230 sites, many of which are full hook-ups. You’ll find both pull-through and pull-in sites to suit your parking preference.
Along with that, the sites are big-rig friendly. You can bring in a 60-feet long Class A coach and find a spot for it. With sufficient spaces in between the sites, mobility will never be an issue.

- Full hook-up RV sites
Whispering Hills RV Parks has full hook-up sites that have 30/50-amps electricity, water, and sewer hook-ups. Along with that, you have Wi-Fi access. These sites are best suited for campers who prefer comfort.
You can set up picnic tables and BBQ grills at the full hook-up sites. Also, you can fully expand the slide-outs since there’s ample space available at each camping site.
Out of the 230 sites, 9 are premium sites, which are located in the best section of the park, near the fishing pond.
- Swimming pool
Long drives are often hectic. That’s why there’s a pool inside the RV park that allows you to refresh and chill out soon after your arrival. It isn’t shallow, and hence safe for the kids. There’s a small patio area where you can bring in your own sun loungers or beach chair.
The park also has a pond in case you find the swimming pool to be overcrowded. Unlike the pool, it’s big enough to offer privacy and exclusivity. Fishing and camping are both allowed at the pond.

You can use the on-site dump station to empty your gray and black tanks. It is open 24X7, so you can use it even if you arrive early in the morning or late at night.
If you’re at a full hook-up site, all you have to do is connect the tank to the sewer. Others will have to drive down to the dump station. But make sure not to use harsh chemicals to treat the waste tanks.
- Propane
The RV park has an on-site propane refill station – even though there are no boondocking sites within the park. It’s open to all RVers who are low on propane. Filling the tank would ensure you’re stocked with enough propane for the trip down the road.
There’s a specialist at the refill station to carry out the refilling for you.
While the facilities are open year-round, they might remain closed during certain months or days due to maintenance or any other reasons. It’s better to inquire about it at the time of reservation.

- Fishing and swimming
You should start off fishing at the campground. As already mentioned, there’s a pond nearby that’s well-stocked with various types of fish. Bring in a fishing rod to test your angling skills at the park.
Swimming is also permissible in the lake. Just make sure you know how to swim since there are no lifeguards. Or else, you should try the pool inside the park, which isn’t shallow.
For a better fishing experience, visit Mallard Point Drive, which is only 2.5 miles away. Bill’s Live Fish Farm is another popular fishing pond in Georgetown.
- Kayaking and canoeing
Fishing is not the only water sport activity; you can also engage in kayaking and rafting. Drive down to the beautiful Elkhorn Creek, 10 miles away from the Whispering Hills RV Park.
Elkhorn Creek is a multi-county stream stretching 18.3 miles. The slow-moving water makes it safe for canoeing or kayaking. You can also find boat rentals that will give you a tour of the creek.

Whispering Hills RV Park Rates
Whispering Hills RV Park is a budget-friendly park with reasonable rates even during peak season. Thus, you can plan an RV trip on a tight budget.
The back-in sites will cost you $45 per night, while their pull-thru counterparts are priced at $50. Premium sites cost $60 per night, and deluxe pull-thru are billed at $60 per night. Sam Club members should expect around $5 less on every RV site.
You can avail discounts for booking monthly or weekly plans, but it’s subject to availability.
If you’re coming in on holidays or weekends, you must book at least three days.
How to Reserve an RV Site?
Whispering Hills RV Park allows you to make a reservation online. You can visit the online portal, check the availability, and book a campsite of your choice. The portal also allows you to make payments and confirm your bookings.
Another way to reserve an RV site at Whispering Hills is at the counter. The representative will list the available sites for you to choose from. You can then make the payments and get to your site.
If you cancel your reservation, please note that there’s a $10 cancellation fee. But there is no cancellation fee applicable if you cancel five days before the arrival date.

The RV park is in a prime location, because of which it’s always in high demand. In case you fail to secure a site at Whispering Hills RV Park, there are a few alternatives available. Unfortunately, none of them are in Georgetown but rather in Lexington and nearby areas. Some of them are:
The best alternative to Whispering Hills RV Park is Three Springs Campground. It’s located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain, this offering a mountain backdrop. Also, the park is a mere one mile from the Ark Encounter.
At the campground, you’ll find both RV and tent sites along with rustic cabins. It’s big-rig friendly, and you’ll have some full hook-up sites to choose from.
The RV sites at the Three Springs Campground start from $36 per night and go all the way up to $45 a night. This makes it a pretty affordable campground for most RVers.
You can park your RV within the 1,200-acre Kentucky Horse Park Campground. There are no full hook-up sites, but you do get electricity, water, and fire rings. It’s just the sewer hook-up that’s missing. You need to drive down to the dump station to empty the tanks.
All RV sites are 55-foot paved back-ins. Rigs bigger than 55-foot are, hence, not allowed. With a swimming pool, bathhouses, and laundry on-site, your stay is guaranteed to be comfortable.
A 12-mile paved walking area and rustic trails are the main reasons to stay at this campground in Lexington.

Maple Grove is another small campground in Lexington. It’s much smaller and rustic than other RV parks on this list. The off-the-beaten-path trailer park is located in a secluded spot, 100 meters away from Georgetown Road. Hence, it gets very quiet here.
The RV sites aren’t full hook-ups, but you do have water and electricity at some sites. The price is reasonable as well. If you fail to get a spot at Kentucky Horse Park Campground, drive down to this, which is only a few miles away.
