"We started renting campervans out of our love for being on the road and sleeping in a different spot every night and are excited to share our favorite way to travel with other outdoor and van life enthusiasts. We’ve been exploring the mainland by van for over 20 years and love the freedom it provides. After our last extended vacation in our mainland home-on-wheels we realized it would be a great way to explore these island gems of Hawai'i! When home is where you park it, there are more hours to play the day away!"

Great van, good little family trip. Vehicle is a little rugged at 150k miles but still ran like a champ and fit our needs well.

The campervan had warning for engine from the beginning and we had difficulty to get out the first campsite due to the poor engine. My husband had to check the level and we had to put coolant the first day as it was under the low limit.
We did not used the shower and toilet, honestly you don’t need it, all our campsites were well equipped.

We had an amazing trip with Pololu on the Big Island. Camping on the beach, visiting Volcanoes National Park, enjoying the weather and beautiful sunrises/sunsets - it was fantastic! We hope to rent from you again someday.

The camper van was very complete and had all things you would take on a camping holiday.
Even there was an extra battery for charging phone and they put some extra’s in like the game uno and other handy accessoires.

Resting the RV was the best decision we have made on a vacation! The freedom of camping on the Big Island was an adventure and a wonderful way to experience the Island and island life first hand. The people of Hawaii were kind and sweet and we had no trouble finding places to stay with the Metris. Thanks Matt for being super kind and helpful while we were on the island.

Easy to drive, loaded with essentials, and sleeps very well. RV exceeded expectations on all levels. Will do this again.

We had a great time on the Big Island on Coconuts campervan. The original van that we had rented broke-down 24 hours before we were going to pick it up. Campervan Hawaii was able to replace the van with a similar one and offer a discount for the switch. The new van -Coconuts- was really nice and very comfortable. It is very well equipped. It has a refrigerator and freezer that work really well. We were able to keep keep fish and drinks very cold. The kitchen had everything that we need it to cook. in 8 days we ate out twice.
There were many details that made the experience easy; like having a 3 gallon drinking water jag, headlamp, rechargeable fans, electric kettle and french press. The battery system kept the lights on the stove and fridge working with no issues.
We would definitely rent from campervan Hawaii again; they were very nice and easy to work with and the Van and equipment were a complete experience.
Thanks for making our trip so enjoyable close to nature.

Nice Jeep to cruise around Hawai’i!! Fridge is nice to have and we’ll équipes with full comfort for cooking 🍳 and showering 🚿

Great experience taking Maui Wowie around the island. Very comfortable bed and the AC is a great option to have for the hot nights. Highly recommend!

The van is infested with roaches and not just small ones, these roaches are huge! They also will jump at your face and try to bite you if they are cornered or threatened. This happened to my friend when he was trying to kill the biggest one. Terrifying is an understatement. They seemed to get super active at night and were literally everywhere. We killed at least 10 in a matter of 10 mins. No way was I gonna sleep in this van so we had to book hotel for entire stay and change our plans and itinerary completely. Host was great about refunding our money and allowing us the keep the van for something to still drive around since we were already on Hilo side of the island. Just wish we would have been told about these bugs prior to booking or picking up the van.

By far the best way to see Big Island. I’d recommend booking campgrounds in advance because many require 72-hours’ notice. Our host was fantastic—we had an issue with the vehicle, they answered immediately, and resolved the issue quickly.

The campervan was great! It was easy to get around with. Parking was sometimes an issue, but that is a general issue on the island. Everything worked as expected. Camp Olowalu and Hosmer Glen are both great spots to park for the night.
