The trip was fun but encountered a few problems.First, I was the first renter of the season so they hadn't de-winterized the trailer yet so I had to flush out the antifreeze from the shower, sink, and toilet for them. Good thing the camping spot had full hook ups and my buddy had the exact same trailer and knew how to do that and what valves to turn on and off.Second, they didn't charge the battery from sitting all winter so I was given a trailer with a dead battery. Not a huge deal,but when you get the trailer home to pack it and put food in the refrigerator, the fridge won't work unless the trailer is connected to your truck which uses your truck battery to power the trailer and if connected for a few hours while packing can drain you truck battery if not started.Third, I had a 2 inch hitch and the trailer required a 2 5/8 inch hitch which was not in the description of the trailer. Thank goodness we had problems with the step on the trailer which prompted a call to the husband owner of the trailer which then mentioned the trailer hitch ball size. We already had the trailer loaded on my 2 inch ball and had to wait for him to bring me the correct size. That could have been a huge towing safety issue if not rectified.Fourth, the breakaway system cable was severed. A breakaway system is designed to bring your trailer to a stop if it gets disconnected from your vehicle. It reduces the chance that a runaway trailer could drift into oncoming traffic and injure someone else. This is an important safety feature which is required by the state of Idaho. If I was pulled over, I could have been ticket for this as well.And lastly, the main sink did not work. Once again, not a huge deal since we brought our own drinking water but one more issue that we spent over an hour trying to troubleshoot.Overall, the trip was fun but I think owners that rent their trailers should bear the responsibility to get the trailer ready for the renter and not have the renter doing the post winter care and setup at their camping destination. The owners would not know if the trailer was having problems to document prior to renting it out because they haven't checked it since they put it away for the winter. While the trailer was mostly clean you could tell it wasn't cleaned prior to me receiving it as I swept out dog hair from when they put it away for the winter. I figured that is part of the $70 cleaning fee they attach to the rental. And it had dead smoke detector battery which I had to replace for them.Still paid full price for the rental after all this work to do some of the renters job.
