Where to start…While the owners were very polite and tried to be helpful, they were on an international trip and left their parents, who were not familiar with the RV, to do the handoff. From there ensued a world of headaches as we set off on our journey.Day 1 - low voltage alarm on the carbon monoxide sensor goes off in the vehicle overnight. This is before we even loaded the vehicle, plugged in anything, or changed any electrical switches from when it was handed off. Car starts fine and the sensor shuts off.
Day 2 - carbon monoxide low voltage sensor goes off 3 more times across 8 hours in the middle of the night, each time requiring us to start the RV and charge the batteries with the alternator until it shut off. We had nothing plugged into the RV at the time.
Day 3 - RV completely dies. Jumped the vehicle and ran for a few hours before turning off and never restarting again with those batteries. Eventually purchased new batteries for both the house and the car after trickle charging them failed. RV owner eventually reimbursed for batteries and allowed us to run the generator the rest of the trip so we don’t lose power again. We had to pay someone to purchase these from auto zone and deliver because the owners felt it was too expensive to send a mechanic.
Day 4 to 6 - now begins the carbon monoxide issues with the long term use of the generator. Had to leave the windows open, while running the AC to keep the air flushed to keep the thing from going off. This is during lows of 57 and highs of 87. It was not comfortable and was very noisy.
Day - 7 returned home and shut off everything, putting the RV back to its original state before we returned. Fortunately, we had enough gas even after running the generator all week, even when the gas tank suddenly dropped from 3/4 full to almost only 1/4th after driving for 10 minutes and catching up with the usage.
Day 8 - RV is dead again in my driveway even with the new batteries before getting it restarted to drop back off.Owners were very polite and tried to help as best they could, but just purchased the RV themselves so are still learning. They also refused to send out a mechanic to the campgrounds, telling me I would have to cancel my vacation and take it to a service center if it required maintenance because that is cheaper for them. I felt very unsafe as the carbon monoxide sensor went off.Owners claim there are no issues with the RV. Were there electrical issues or was it lack of familiarity while the owners were out of country for the hand off? I guess dispute resolution will decide. Either way, suggest you avoid some potential headaches and keep searching for something more reliable.
