• AVOID HIGHWAYS when possible and drive on the right lane if you do, going below speed limits.
• DO NOT exceed speed limits. It’s not safe for anyone and the RV might be a danger to others if it hits a bump or becomes loose.
• DO NOT make hard stops. The RV might look small but it’s heavy nonetheless and will be hard to stop. Hard brakes are not safe for you or anyone else you share the road with.
• KEEP A DISTANCE from other vehicles. Whatever the safe driving distance is for your vehicle, make that 5X.
• DO NOT TAKE SHARP TURNS as this might tip the RV over AND your vehicle. Always take your time when turning.
• DO NOT FORCE PARKING. If you’re trying to back in a spot or camping site, to not force sharp angles or tight spots. Pull out and try again until you get it.
• Keep an eye for objects on the road (hence the importance on a safe distance). Harsh maneuvers might put yourself and others in danger.
• Do not place heavy objects towards the back of the RV or against the back doors as those might not be able to handle the weight and open while driving. Make sure all doors, specially the back doors are fully closed and locked before hitting the road.
