Despite a roomy interior, the van's exterior footprint is smaller than most RVs so it can access many remote or urban sites that they cannot. It has a backup camera/reverse warning detector; fits easily in standard parking spaces, extending only slightly beyond most cars. Taller travelers should note that the main cabin ceiling height and the bed-length are both 6’
Our extensive personal experience driving and living in the van around the U.S. and Canada - in all seasons and road conditions/surfaces -- has allowed us to test and improve what we have come to see as the most important features for making traveling and living in it as easy and enjoyable as possible . As a result, we have compiled a store of insights and tips for safe, affordable, and fun adventures, which we look forward to sharing with you as you embark upon your own campervan journey
Cosa è inclusoKitchen: Fully equipped with pots and pans; plates; bowls; cups; cutlery; cooking utensils; cutting board; oven mitts; napkins, paper towels; spare propane tanks for portable stove; full diesel tank for heater; fire extinguisher; electric toaster; dishwashing and cleaning supplies; food storage cannisters; portable fan/charging cable.
Bedroom: Fresh linens; mattress cover; blankets.
Campsite items: 2 folding canvas chairs; 2 collapsible side tables; tarp; vinyl tablecloth/clips for picnic table; table lamps; flashlight.
Campfire items: Poker; bellows; axe/wood saw,/canvas log carrier [for sites that allow foraging for dead/fallen wood]; telescoping roasting forks.
Misc: Folding step/footstool for sliding-door access and extra seating; telescoping collapsible stool for interior or exterior use; extension cord/adapters for shore-power connection; magnetic privacy screens for windows/windshield; privacy curtain between cab and main cabin; magnetic noise-dampening/blackout covers for ceiling fan openings.
RaccomandazioniThe van is an ideal way to travel to see friends and relatives; visit bucket-list sites/events/attractions; and, of course, for overnight or more extended stays in any of the many national, state, and local parks, forests, monuments, recreation areas, historic sites, etc. Many of these (in Pennsylvania and neighboring states) can be reached within a few hours drive from our base just outside Philadelphia. In addition to savings on car rental and accommodation costs while traveling, we have equipped it with safety features for travel with our dog, which results in significant further savings in boarding/dog-sitting expenses. We have used the van to great advantage in all of these ways and are happy to offer itinerary and other trip-planning suggestions.Altre cose di cui prendere notaIn addition to the standard conditions for all rentals thru Outdoorsy, the following rules apply:
> Rentals are limited to a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 14 days
> An outline of travel plans/itinerary must be submitted prior to rental
> The van is designed to accommodate 2 travelers. No seatbelts are installed in the rear of the van, so it is unsafe for passengers to ride there
> A small/medium sized dog can travel safely in the main cabin with an appropriate harness

5I rented a camper van through Outdoorsy to get some firsthand experience prior to purchasing one soon. I could not have asked for a better experience than with Alan and Judith and their van! Alan spent time going over all the features, tips and tricks for the road, and a thorough tutorial which was invaluable. They’ve created a booklet to reference also. The van’s build is perfect! It’s really a mini home on wheels with all you will need for your adventuring! Many items are included at no cost and it’s clear they care about your experience. The van is as comfortable as it is functional, with seating areas, pull out and fold up tables, beautiful lighting and an incredibly comfy bed! The blackout window covers ensured privacy at night.. I spent my time hiking and exploring Shenandoah and the van was easy to maneuver and park. Additionally…I was grateful to be able to bring my dog. Highly recommend!!

5In short, we had the BEST time and are now hooked on traveling this way. Judith and Alan have created the perfect traveling nest. Having traveled cross-country numerous times, they have thought through all the little details that made our trip wonderful, simple, and organic. We enjoyed cooking on their Coleman-like stove outside on the picnic table vs using the alternative induction burner they also provided. Pots, pans, dishes, a sharp knife (so nice to have), flatware, spatula, strainer.... everything we could want and need to cook all our meals. Sleeping was heaven on earth! So comfy …. and with the back doors open to the lake, it allowed us to enjoy the harvest moon beams, its reflection on the still water, and nature's night sounds without worry thanks to the magnet screens protecting us. Below the bed in the "garage" area, Judith and Alan had chairs, starter wood, tools, a canopy we opened over the picnic table, and more..... Anything and everything our little hearts desired made our trip wonderfully memorable. The last thing I will mention is the awesome briefing Judith and Alan did regarding the van, its mechanical systems, where things are stored, tips from their experience of when and how to use the different items on the van, AND a personalized manual they created explaining all of what they covered in the briefing, just in case we forgot any of the details. We pulled away, prepared and excited to embark on our 1st van camping experience!!!!! Wish all of you the same fantastic experience! Yasmin & John

5Thanks to these wonderful people, Alan anld Judith,my wife and I had a great trip and a fabulous vacation!!! VAN is perfectly and conveniently designe I rented [van name] for a one-week loop from Philadelphia up to Acadia National Park and back, and it turned what could have been a stressful haul into a rolling vacation home. Booking & pickup • Communication with Alan was lightning-fast. Every question (from seat-belt count to the inverter’s wattage) was answered within an hour. • Pickup in Havertown took under 20 minutes—walk-through, paperwork, keys, done. The van itself • Mechanical: Smooth on I-95, nimble on Acadia’s park roads, and the engine fuel—averaged ~19 MPG fully loaded. • Comfort: Two adults slept like champs on the memory-foam platform bed; MaxxAir fan + screened windows kept things cool even without shore power. The route • Overnighted at Harriman State Park (NY), a Harvest Hosts farm in Vermont, Cobscook Bay State Park (ME) • The van’s 9’ exterior height cleared every height-restricted bridge Support on the road • We never needed help, but the 24/7 text line was active. Drop-off took 15 minutes. Reliable, ultra-clean, and hosted by someone who clearly cares about both their rig and their renters’ experience. Would book again in a heartbeat!
